Hello Everyone!

Here is the second installment of our "Tip of the Week." The Election last week gave us a little late publishing on this issue but we promise to not have any more delays! We will be joined by 1SG Graf this week talking about in-game roles! In-game roles play a crucial part in having a successful team. When everyone has a designated job it makes it easier to coordinate and rely on your team. This pre-planning before entering a match can be the difference between a win and a loss especially when combined with our tips from the Communication issue last week. I hope you enjoy!

IGL

To be an IGL, you will have to take the final decisions for your team, and decide what you are going to do. As an IGL you don’t stand alone with the decisions, you still have to listen to your team, but your vote is the final one.

Your team will be dependent on your strat calling. Without an IGL, it will be harder to win the match. As an IGL, it is essential that you know the callouts, and basic strats for the maps that you are playing on.

When you are calling the strats, you must try to get into the head of your opponent, so you have an idea of what they are thinking. It is also important that you are aware of the economics of your team, so you know which rounds to buy, and which too not. And if possible, you should also try to keep up with the enemy's economy.

Entry Fragger

As the entry fragger of a team, you are the first one to run into the battle. The entry fragger usually has a quick aim, so he/she has a better chance of getting the first kill, when running into battle.

As the entry fragger, you are most likely going to die a lot of the time when running in, but if you get a kill, and your teammates get a re-frag, and you get information, you have done your job. If you should get more than one kill, as well as information, you have done more than your job.

It is important for you to at least get the first kill, which will almost give a better mental state for the entire team, since you have the advantage at that point.

As the entry fragger, you should also keep in mind where people have been sitting previous rounds, so when you go into battle, you have a better chance of a positive outcome.

Support

As the support it is essential that you know the smokes, flashes etc. of the map that you are playing. You will usually play close to the entry fragger, so that you can flash him/her in, and if possible you can also get the re-frag of the entry fragger.

The support will not engage too much in battle, but will give important information, and back up the other players of the team.

Lurker

As the lurker, you will be the one man army. You will not be positioning yourself towards the other members of the team, but rather flanking the enemy.

The lurker role takes good game sense, since you have to know when is the right time to push the enemies. You will also have to get an idea of where they are. The lurker will sometimes take the site with the other members of the team, and then fall back to another angle to try and catch the enemies off guard, whereas other times, the lurker will be flanking the enemies while the teammates are taking the site.

The lurker will also give vital information for the team, since he/she most of the time will be able to hear the enemies rotating.

AWPer

As it pretty much says in the name, you will be the one using the AWP. The AWPer role isn’t as much a role as the other ones, since this role defines what you are using.

When playing AWPer, it is good to have fast reactions, and pinpoint accuracy.

When playing with the AWP, you will not be as mobile as the riflers, but that doesn’t mean that you should sit in the same spot all the time, you should still stay mobile, scouting out enemy positions and holding open lanes.

Rifler

It will come as no surprise that the rifler role uses the rifle. The rifler role isn’t as much a role as it is an execution that you do.

The rifler is a person who uses the rifles, usually the AK-47, M4A4 and M4A1-s.

The rifler specializes in the rifles, knowing their spray patterns and being able to hit headshots consistently for clean kills.
