Counter-Strike Global Offensive Tip of the Week Volume 1 Number 3
We are back again after another brief interlude due to Thanksgiving for our third installment of the Tip of the Week. We are joined again by 1SG Graf, Enjoy!
-How to improve your aim-
This time on tip of the week, I’m going to be talking about aiming. If you are like Limepally, and your aim is like a watermelon, or you just don’t feel like you are hitting anything. Then here are some tips on how to improve your aim and create a more consistent gaming experience..
Download practice maps
A key thing to improving your aim is, of course, practice. You can download practice maps down from the community workshop. You might want to play on them as your warm up, or just in general. It can help if you either set a time for how long you want to practice, or set yourself a goal of either how many headshots, or how many kills you want before finishing. Here are some good ones that we use:

Fit your sensitivity
Having the right sensitivity is also very important. If you don’t have the right sensitivity, you will flick farther than your targets, or not flick to them at all, and you will have a hard time following anyone that is moving. There is no "right" sensitivity, but it is something that you will have to spend a little time with, tweaking it until you find that right fit. When you are able to move from side to side, and have your mouse focus on a specific point, you have found the right sensitivity for you.
Customize crosshair
It might also help you to aim better if you have a customized crosshair, in that way, you can make your crosshair just the way you want it. Having a crosshair that suits you will help it be less distracting during gameplay and also provide any crucial extra information you might desire. There are multiple maps from that community workshop that can be downloaded, and will help you customize your crosshair, if you don’t already know the console commands.

Crosshair placement
Learning where to put your crosshair on the screen is also a key feature. You should always try to aim where you are looking, and keeping your aim at head-level with the enemies to ensure you hit corner headshots.. You should also try to make your aim move smoothly, so that you can synchronize your aim, and your movement. This will of course take practice, and it will take some time before you know exactly where to aim, but when you know it, it will pay off. Try spending extra time on maps that you like or play consistently. Hold corners and see how and where people are peeking from. This practice will help you better gauge your crosshair placement for future matches.
Getting help
It is also a good idea to get help from someone that knows the game better than you do, this could either be a TI, TS or just another player that would like to help you. Passing down experience is always a good idea, so even if you are not struggling with your aim, you can always help someone else, who is. We have a training department willing to help you in CS:GO so feel free to contact them via email/conversation or use our training sign up form:
