Star Citizen
Star Citizen is a game that TAW has tried to bring in more than once, but in the end the lack of content has always made it difficult. However, SCZ has lots new features, and with over 50 flyable ships Star Citizen is better than ever. If you would like to see this game in TAW please fill out the VG Future Games Form.
About Star Citizen
A Universe Awaits.
Imagine a universe that combines the freedom of exploration, the thrill of combat, and the unique challenge of building a life in space. Star Citizen puts ultimate control in the hands of the player, whether you're making your way as a cargo hauler, exploring the vastness of space, or scraping out a living outside the law, you will navigate through a mixture of procedurally generated and handcrafted worlds and interact with a variety of characters.
Star Citizen is in active development. You can download and play Star Citizen Alpha 3.2 now. Additional features and updates will be released as they are developed.
From high speed dogfights to intense FPS warfare, battles can occur anytime, anywhere. So whether you're chasing down ruthless bounties or raiding civilian cargo haulers, it'll be up to you to decide which side of the law you want to fall on.
Trade
Dive into a dynamic economy and seek your fortune. Traders are drawn to the thrill of amassing resources, currency and social status. Whether trading contraband on the blackmarket or building legitimate empires, the life of the trader requiresresourcefulness, strategy and an entrepreneurial spirit.
EXPLORE
The explorer builds a life on the pursuit of knowledge and discovery. They will seek out the unknown or sometimes just surrender to the thrill of getting lost. Whether it's a hidden outpost, a derelict ship or a beautiful sunset, explorers are eager to see what's waiting over that next ridge.
UNITE
Be a part of something greater. Engage other players to crew a multi-crew ship or build a player-run Organization into an entire spacefaring fleet. Either way, the Star Citizen Universe is all about community. In here, your actions have consequences that will either draw cheers from players and NPCs or get you shot.
.
Star Citizen is all this and more. I could have made this post go on for many pages, but I urge you if you don’t know what Star Citizen is? Go the SCZ website, check out youtube, and find out for yourself.

7 commentsI'm not sure this game would become TAW-viable for a good while. It's came a long way since it was announced all those years ago (I put in a few hundreds when it first came out years back, lol), but it still has a long path to go yet. I would be interested to see where this game goes though.
I love this game and i will be the first one to hop on the band wagon once its out. But there should be a rule against trying to start a division for a pre alpha game xD
You should consider waiting with this at least until the point where the PTU isn't wiped anymore.
But i still wish you guys the best of luck!
I would submit that not only is Star Citizen ready for TAW prime time, but we are missing the boat in preparation for what could be a mainstay game in the future for this community. There are tons of organizations out that run a vibrant and highly organized effort today. It is true that we definitely all have our own personal requirements as to what we would like to see in this game before we participate, but opening the doors now will allow that freedom of choice.
In my honest opinion this is a great game in the current PTU 3.3 state and now being able to buy in-game ships makes it ready enough for TAW I think. TAW members can band together to grind ships find out what makes good money and then use that in the live builds when they're no longer wiped. Theres plenty of opportunity for fun and organised events in this and it actually runs much more smooth (I get 90-100 fps in most places)l. I picture Two squads going for the same objective, landing on a planet in different areas, taking vehicles to the objective then battling it out in first person shooter style to recover the hardware chip :D, and obviously a massive trading fleet battling off pirates in interdictions
I'm really keen to participate in this but I don't think the game is ready yet. On the other hand, I don't think TAW can wait for the universe to become persistent. Persistence (keeping what you earn instead of losing it with every patch) is too far away but there has to be enough core mechanics to sustain game play. I think Star Citizen will have sufficient game play sometime next year. Until that point is reached, it will not be my primary game.
You know, this game is going to be amazing!!
My dream game for sure!
I do believe Star Citizen is ready for TAW! We are way behind the curve with establishing a presence in this area. I would really love to see this expanded to our ranks. However we would have to show the same commitment as the rest of the community or risk being left in the dust.
