Have you ever wanted to play in a massive multiplayer game where you work with hundreds of players to shape the outcome of a persistant online war?  How about being an individual soldier that contributes to the war through your efforts in logistics, base building, combat, etc? Love the WWII era? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to check out Foxhole.

Foxhole is a player directed warfare sandbox game, where EVERY soldier is controlled by a player.  Soldiers will be the driving force of every element of the war, from weapon manufacturing and base building, to strategy & combat.  Think of it similar to Command & Conquer but instead of you controlling everything, each soldier is someone else. Even after you log out, your presence still stays active in the world.

That’s right, Foxhole is a persistant living world just waiting for players to conquer or relinquish territories in this constant war torn conflict.  Team up with others to execute long term strategies that take days of planning to reduce the risk of casualties, join in alternate timeline usiverses where great wars never ended and the war has been ongoing for centuries, as you gain notoriety & influence among your faction.

Foxhole is still listed on Steam as being in Early Access, but don’t let that fool you.  This game does boast mostly positive reviews and the developers are constantly keeping their players up to date on what’s going on.  If you’re wondering how long the game will be in Early Access, Clapfoot (the developers), haven’t stated, but keep in mind, the game did spend about a year in “pre-alpha” testing before they even took it to Early Access.  They want to make sure that what they roll out is a fully polished game and value the input from their community. In fact, the current version is stable, balanced, and has no game breaking bugs. You can log in daily and has been able to support the load thrown at it for just over a year now.  And if you’re concerned about it being an “indie developer”, let’s put it this way, back in 2017 they were voted #1 for IndieDB, made it into the top 100 back in 2016 and according to the developer: “A very strong and active Foxhole community has existed for over a year now. We have over 50,000 members on our Discord (http://discord.gg/foxhole) and 5000 members on our subreddit (reddit.com/r/foxholegame). Check out all the fan art and fiction that our community has created over the last year (http://www.foxholegame.com/blog/category/Community). In addition, we put out developer streams and blogs on a regular basis. Feedback from the community is constantly being evaluated and integrated into the game.
