Dauntless Interest Post

Vanguard is currently gauging interest in the Free to Play Action RPG Dauntless, developed by Phoenix Labs and published by Epic Games. Epic Games are the creators and masterminds of titles like Fortnite and the Gears of War series which was my go-to back in my console days. The top selling points for this game are that it is free to play, it's cross platform meaning you can play it with all of your buddies, regardless of the platform you are playing it on (to soon include Nintendo Switch AND Mobile devices)! Also they have brought in Trials where you can compete each week for fastest kill to be put up on the wall of champions for all the world to see!.

Zephyr Strike

Zephyr Strike has brightened Ramsgate’s horizons with neon hair tints, our first-ever Faction Fight, and fifty new levels of Hunt Pass prizes! This update also improves the Patrol Chest system and introduces a new breed of Trials fauna: styxians.

Faction Fight

Endurance Squad takes on Defiance Squad in our first-ever Dauntless #FactionFight! Choose a side, equip a sigil, and earn points for your team with every hunt. At the end of two weeks, the winning faction’s lantern will be added to the store … for free.

PATROL CHESTS 2.0

When we first introduced Patrol Chests to Dauntless, it was with the hopes that they would be a nice reward for Slayers who played regularly – a bit of bonus loot to help you level up your gear. Instead, they became a point of confusion. What were Patrol Chests? How were you supposed earn them? What was the Boost for? And how did you know if you were boosted or not?

Many customer support tickets later, we’ve decided to revisit the Patrol Chest system. Here’s what you need to know in the post-0.9.2 world.

WHAT IS A PATROL CHEST?

A Patrol Chest is basically a stash of bonus loot. If you have a chest available and you complete a patrol, you can open the chest to get bonus rewards. You can see how many chests you own by opening up the in-game map.

STYXIANS

The newest fold in the fabric of Trials is the fast and fearsome styxian. We started off calling these “shark cats” internally, but they quickly earned their more ominous name.

Character Customization

Dauntless has brought amazing Character customizations into the game in the form of weapon and armor transmogs as well as many updates to facial features and hairstyles! Here are a few screenshots provided by JmagLive of his character! 

They have a host of many different colors to choose From Premium colors you have to pay for to free ones you can unlock from battling heroic monsters to even ones you get from twitch prime!

They have different Armor transmogs as you see below! Each armor slot (Helmet, Body, Gauntlets, Boots, and Lanterns) All have their own Dedicated page for different transmogs!

Below is JmagLives Character. He has done a mix of 3 different armors. His helmet Transmog is received through the Faction Fight as he picked the green team ! His body transmog is a premium paid transmog bought through the store from the Ostian Admiral Set! For his gauntlets and boots he chose to go with the simple studded look that is offered to everyone from the Recruit Set which every player receives once they start the game! And finally for his Repeater transmog he went with the ZVR-84 “Last Days” Transmog that coincides with his team for the faction Fight!
