Kittie [TF 4SL]

Thinking back, what drew you to TAW?
The fact that I was getting fed up with the amount of sexism going on in the TF2 community. I needed a safe haven and TAW provided that for me.... plus a few of my friends were members and kept telling me I didn't have to deal with everything I put up with in TAW... so one day I was talking to Stitchpunk and I said, "Stitch, what's that website again, www.taw.net ?" She helped me fill out my TAW application and the rest is history.

Do you have any special hobbies or activities outside of online gaming/TAW?
I do a lot in the Theatre,  I work back stage during performances, I act, and I sing for the people who... for the lack of better words shouldn't sing... ever. I also do some volunteering at local areas in my community; sparsely.

Do you admire a famous person? What made them admirable?
Honestly? I really admire Robin Williams. He's funny, smart, and just an amiable guy. He's the person I want to be in the acting community.

What are some favorites?  color, food, ice cream, book, movie, song, sport, etc
Color - Purple
Food - This is going to sound weird but I love Erky Lerky... It's a tradition in my home.
Ice Cream - Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough... YUM!
Book - The Giver /or/ Peeps
Movie - Rocky Horror Picture Show, Sweeney Todd... I like cult classics and musicals... I don't really have a favorite honestly.

What are the goals you are still working toward?
I'm dead set on getting TI in TAW... I really want to be that. xD TI or TS honestly. Both are what I'm going for in TAW.
In real life I'm not sure. Maybe becoming a better person? LOL why does it sound like I'm trying out for Ms. America...

Tell me how you first got involved in with TAW . . .
TheJoker wanted me to play TF2 on the TAW public. Back then clans weren't what I wanted but the people were really nice. 5 Months later I joined up.

What was your first impression of TAW?
I loved it. But was intimidated by the skill levels some of the members have.

What's your first memory of something related to TAW?
I was so excited my first time on TeamSpeak, they were about to have a practice and I wanted to join in even though I wasn't a recruit. I had a blast that night.

What has surprised you most about working with TAW?
I became a Squad Leader in less then 4 months of being in TAW. I was a PFC that jumped ranks to SL. It was hard and scary at first, not to mention very dramatic, but I do love doing this and I'm glad that they choose me even though I was honestly too green and not ready for the position.

What do you find most challenging about TAW?
Trying not to kill people when they annoy me.... LOL I'm kidding. Honestly? Recruiting. It's a lot harder then it used to be.

What's the best/worst thing to happen since you started working with TAW?
Best - When I became a Squad Leader, I came into TAW wanting it. And when I achieved it I was so excited I couldn't wait to tell everyone.
Worst- We had some drama in my squad that lasted around 4 weeks. My Command staff wouldn't do anything about it and I had to suffer, only when I threatened to quit did they actually do something about it. I never want this to happen again, to anyone. Plus with the change in leadership in the TF 4 I don't think we'll have that problem ever again.

When you last volunteered, made a donation, etc., how did that make you feel?
I volunteer to do anything, I make it a point to help anyone the way I can. I honestly don't feel happy with myself unless I have done something for TAW at least once a day... I'm so odd.

If you could change one thing about TAW, what would it be?
I'd change the age limit. I think it should depend on what game is being played then just making everyone have to be 15. You lose some pretty mature for their age 13 and 14 year olds in TF2, since we have a younger gaming population it's harder to find older people that are genuinely interested in being a clan.

What do you wish other people knew about TAW?
The people in it. Whenever TF has a recruiting practice we make sure to talk and act like we usually do, when not in competition practices. It helps weed out the 'troll'ers and the sexist ones.

Why are you supporting the TAW as opposed to other groups working on TAW?
I have no idea what this question is asking me.

Tell me about some of the people you've met while working on TAW?
Zoloft - He's awesome. He's amrt and can bring anyone in a bad mood to brightness again. Plus he makes sure things get done. I really like that about him.
TheGame - When I felt like I needed to leave TAW when the drama became too much for me to handle, he came and saved my sanity. Plus he has a really nice car... *u*
Dawcy - I actually recruited her here. She's like my long lost twin.
Kronos - ...He's always there if you need someone to talk to. Plus if you need help with trading in TF he'll help you.
cjspyres - In the dramatics that happen when teams are losing and losing all hope, he helps me really get the team's morale up. It means a lot to me.
I could go on and on about everyone I've met and everyone I haven't met yet, in TAW. But all in all? I think everyone here is pretty awesome in their own way.

What would you say are some of your strongest beliefs about TAW?
Stopping Sexism. Believe me, that what really makes TAW for me some days.

What's your personal philosophy on what should be done about TAW?
I could ramble on and ramble, but to save you from that I won't say a thing. xP

When your friends/family find out that you volunteer, donate, etc., what do they say or ask?
I tell my friends I'm in TAW, they think I'm weird but I love it.
I really don't actually donate yet to TAW, but my mom knows I love TAW. When I mess up or do something wrong she'll yell and say, "Do that again and I'll make you leave TAW." Guess who doesn't do it again? I know I don't.

Tell me about someone who has influenced your decision to work with TAW?
TheJoker and Stitchpunk really influenced me. They're both girls who experienced the same things I did and upon learning TAW was a safe haven I thought it over for 5 months before actually becoming a TAW nerd.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I'm actually one of the youngest TF members at the age of 16. My birthday is November 4th when I'll become 17.

The interest in TAW seems to be growing/waning. Why do you think that is?
Waning - Because some people get truly burnt out of the games they play and then their need to be in TAW wanes since it forces them to have to play the game.
Growing - Because TAW gets new games, that always brings in fresh blood.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about donating, volunteering, etc.?
Do it. Servers don't run on happiness and sunshine!~

What do you think will change about TAW over the next five years?
Command... I tend not to think that far ahead.

What's it like to be a volunteer, client, donor or the TAW?
I think who ever is righting these questions needs to seriously rewrite them... some get repeated and make no sense occasionally.

If you weren't volunteering, using their services, etc., what would you be doing instead, or what would your life be like?
I'd probably be bored out of my mind.

How would someone describe you?
I had two people describe me, that knew me well enough to answer the question honestly.
A said - A peppy person who seems to have a bad past but trys to make the best of every situation
B said - Garrulous, well-intention-ed, and unpredictable.

Not sure what the first word on B's means... but I'm going to google it!

What else can you tell me about the TAW?
It's a fun, dysfunctional family where everyone pretty much knows everyone.
